UNIRAC is a leading North American solar power infrastructure provider. The client contacted me to build a big illustration (in Wimmelbook style), for their website, offices and print materials. The idea was to track the whole company process and its locations, starting from the offices in India, the manufacturing in Albuquerque, the distributors and the installment of the solar panels.

The illustration is divided into three interconnected sections, with 3 buildings each for a total of 35+ key points and various characters across the whole scene. The center piece of the composition is UNIRAC's office and manufacturing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was important to connect the different locations with the usage of vehicles: for example the cargo ship that brings the materials from India to New Jersey. Each sequence starts with a vehicle on the top of the scene, moves in the center and reach the the destination in the bottom.
There are three groups of characters with their unique outfit and tools, interacting with each other: UNIRAC employees, distributors and installers. Each one of them has a unique role: some work in the office, a trade show or a warehouse, while other characters are training a distributor or teaching how to installment the solar panel on a roof. The whole illustrations can also be split in smaller scenes with characters: this allows the client to use only the elements they want in other materials. The characters are also grouped in two/three or with objects such as desks, whiteboard, tools and roof.
